Every year we all look forward to the chill end of summer vibe and eclectic mix of performers on the CityFolk stage in Ottawa. This year was no exception.
Located on the great lawn at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa, CityFolk Festival is a multi-day celebration of music, dance, and community featuring an impressive mix of musical performances on various stages. It's a family-friendly, community-focused, culturally diverse festival that is committed to eco-friendly initiatives.
This year we were fortunate in that Mother Nature was in a great mood for all five days of the fest. We enjoyed all five headliners including girl gang The Beaches, rock and rollers Greta Van Fleet, alt-rock mainstays Rise Against, across the pond indie-pop sensations Milky Chance, and on the last night the incredibly talented and outspoken Maren Morris who was filling in for an ill Jason Isbel.
As is always the case at CityFolk, the openers for these performers also represented a mix of genres. There is always someone new to discover or someone we have heard of but not seen live. Standouts this year included Ottawa darlings Jamie Fine, who was a party all on her own and made us smile during her entire set, and Alanna Sterling who tore a hole in the tent above the Fasken stage with their performance.
Have a look through our gallery of photos, see if you can spot yourself, and reminisce about what a great time we all had together. Until next year!
